Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley is the debut solo album by Robert Palmer, released in 1974.It followed three album releases co-fronting the band Vinegar Joe. [5] [6]Palmer is backed by The Meters and Lowell George of Little Feat.
Robert Allen Palmer (19 January 1949 – 26 September 2003) was an English singer and songwriter. He was known for his powerful and soulful voice, his sartorial elegance, and his stylistic explorations, combining soul , funk , jazz , rock , pop , reggae , and blues .
Featured on the 2013 CD reissue by Edsel (which is bundled with Sneakin' Sally Through the Alley) are acoustic demos of "Willin'" (George) and "Hope We Never Wake". Palmer rerecorded "Work to Make It Work" for his final studio album featuring original compositions, 1999's Rhythm & Blues (released in 1998 in Japan).
Robert Walter is an American keyboard player specializing in soul jazz on the Hammond B3 organ and Fender Rhodes. He is best known as a founding member of The Greyboy Allstars . Walter, splits his time between The Greyboy Allstars, his own 20th Congress, and a robust film soundtrack session career in Los Angeles.
