Hawarden Airport (IATA: CEG, ICAO: EGNR), also known as Hawarden Aerodrome, is an airport near Hawarden in Flintshire, Wales, near the border with England and 3.5 NM (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) west southwest of the city of Chester. It was the first turbo-prop aeroplane to land on an aircraft carrier. The model entered production in 1953, and into operation in 1955. The college bought a surplus Gannet in 1970 for £750, with it flown from RAF Lossiemouth to Hawarden Airport in 1971, and towed to the college by a tractor.
