' Beaumont of the Périgord ', before 2001: Beaumont; Occitan: Bèlmont) [2] is a former commune in the Dordogne department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France, on 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Beaumontois-en-Périgord.
Barjou is a hamlet in France that lies just off the main D66 road linking Beaumontois-en-Périgord and Monpazier. [1] It is 9 km from Monpazier and about the same distance to Beaumont. Administratively, it is part of the commune of Sainte-Croix , in the Dordogne département .

On 1 January 2016, it was merged into the new commune Brantôme en Périgord. [2] It is the seat of the canton of Brantôme. Via Lemovicensis , an old pilgrimage route to Santiago de Compostela, runs through Brantôme. The commune, which retains its picturesque atmosphere, is situated along the river Dronne.
