Hamilton is a town in the eastern central portion of Essex County in eastern Massachusetts, United States. At the 2020 census , it had a population of 7,561. [ 1 ] Currently the town has no manufacturing industry and no industrially zoned land.
The town of Hamilton was originally a part of Ipswich, with the first documented settlement in the area in 1638, and Bay Road (now Massachusetts Route 1A) laid out in 1640. It was established as a separate parish in 1714 and incorporated in 1793.
