McLean High School football field. McLean's football team finished the 1980 season 10–1, led by future Notre Dame and New York Giants player Eric Dorsey. The Highlanders were also one of the top teams in the Northern Region in the 1990s. In 1995, the Highlanders finished 12-1 and played Virginia powerhouse Hampton High in the state semifinal.
The campus is on 376 acres (1.52 km 2) overlooking the Potomac River (McLean, Virginia) and consists of 34 separate buildings.. Original buildings on the 1931 campus include Main, the dining hall, Schoolhouse, East, West, North, and South Dorms, the Land, the Annex (infirmary), and the two gatehouses at the entrance to the Oval.
