The businesses passed to his son, Orla H. Bailey Jr., who ran the bakery through the late 1940s, and the grocery until 1959. The storefronts were occupied by a series of businesses afterward, notably Chauncey's Barber Shop which occupied a space from 1929 though 1984, and Belen's Flowers which occupied a space from 1969 to 2010.
Though the Shrine was temporarily relocated to the new St. Norbert Abbey between 1969-2015, it has since returned to its original location. Since 1888, a weekly Perpetual Novena in honor of St. Joseph has been prayed every Wednesday at the Shrine as well as an annual Solemn Novena leading to the Solemnity of St. Joseph (March 19) from March 10-19.
