Densha de Go! 2 Kōsoku-hen (Japanese: 電車でGO!2 高速編, "Go by Train! 2: High Speed Volume") is a train simulator. It is part of the Densha de Go! series. It was released in the arcades in Japan in 1998.
The game was ported to the PC, Sega Saturn, and PlayStation. The concept for Densha de Go! was inspired by designer Akira Saito's personal fascination with Japanese train lines and railroads. He wanted to create a game that allowed players to familiarize themselves with driving a train.
On October 21, 2015, A-Train 9 Version 4.0: Japan Rail Simulator was released on Steam, supporting Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8.1 and 10. On September 6, 2018, A-Train Version 5.0: Final was released in Japan, supporting Windows 7, 8.1 and 10. No English version of the game has been released thus far.
Kodama (こだま, "Echo") is one of the three train services running on the Tōkaidō and San'yō Shinkansen lines. Stopping at every station, the Kodama is the slowest Shinkansen service for trips between major cities such as Tokyo and Osaka. The Kodama trains are used primarily for travel to and from smaller cities such as Atami.
