Trauma Towers, formerly The Haunted Hotel, was a themed funhouse, haunted attraction based at Pleasure Beach Resort in the North of the United Kingdom. [ 1 ] The attraction opened in 1980 as a walk-through, themed as a derelict hotel taking visitors through several haunted rooms.
The attraction first opened at its original location in Southport in 1999. When Pleasureland closed in 2006, the ride was moved to Blackpool Pleasure Beach, where it has operated since 2007. The original ride featured a red track with teal supports; however, the track has since been repainted blue. The ride cost a total of £8 million to construct.
After the Trauma Towers ride at Blackpool Pleasure Beach closed at the end of the 2008 season, some of the scenes in Trauma Towers were reused in the Ghost Train ride, including the phantom who plays the organ. A few of the changes to the ride include a flying skeleton head becoming a boiler and the druid scene becoming the exorcist girl.
