The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission on Thursday issued an urgent warning about portable adult bed rails, saying the devices are behind the suffocation deaths of 18 people since 2021.
Medical supply company Medline Industries is recalling some 1.5 million portable adult bed rails across the U.S. and Canada, following two reports of entrapment deaths associated with the products.
Medline is offering refunds to those with these bed rails by phone at 866-359-1704, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., Eastern time, Monday through Friday, or by emailing recalls@medline.com.
