"The Simpsons Theme", also referred to as "The Simpsons Main Title Theme" in album releases, is the theme music of the animated television series The Simpsons. It plays during the opening sequence and was composed by Danny Elfman in 1989, after series creator Matt Groening approached him requesting a theme.
It was the last Simpsons episode written by Brent Forrester and the last one directed by Wes Archer (both Forrester and Archer left to work on King of the Hill). [1] Peter Frampton and musical groups Sonic Youth, Cypress Hill, and The Smashing Pumpkins guest star as themselves.
In its original broadcast, "King of the Hill" finished 23rd in ratings for the week of April 27–May 4, 1998, with a Nielsen rating of 9.4, equivalent to approximately 9.2 million viewing households. It was the fourth highest-rated show on the Fox network that week, following The X-Files, King of the Hill, and Ally McBeal. [4]
The season 28 episode "Monty Burns' Fleeing Circus", which aired on September 25, 2016, features a couch gag that is a parody of the Adventure Time opening, called "Simpsons Time", recreated with characters from The Simpsons. The song for this opening is sung by Pendleton Ward, who sung the theme song for Adventure Time, and also created the show.

The Simpsons: Testify is an album that features songs from the animated television series The Simpsons.It was released on September 18, 2007. It includes appearances by artists such as Jackson Browne, Shawn Colvin, David Byrne, The B-52's, The Baha Men, NRBQ and "Weird Al" Yankovic, and an alternate version of the end credits performed by Los Lobos.
Compared to the previous album released in The Simpsons franchise, The Simpsons Sing the Blues, the album failed to match the success of their previous record.It managed to peak at number 18 in the United Kingdom, where it would become the last charting album for the franchise in that country.
