Countdown to Extinction is the fifth studio album by American thrash metal band Megadeth, released on July 14, 1992, [2] through Capitol Records.It was the group's second studio release to feature the "classic" lineup of Dave Mustaine, Marty Friedman, David Ellefson and Nick Menza, with all of them contributing to songwriting on the album.
Megadeth's most commercially successful album, Countdown to Extinction (1992), peaked at number 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, and was the band's first record to be certified platinum at its release year by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). [1]

[2] The "20th anniversary tour" idea for this album follows on a similar tour in honor of the 20th anniversary of another Megadeth album, Rust in Peace (1990) and its associated live album.
In this time, they wrote "Countdown to Extinction" and "FFF" with Mustaine and Ellefson, leaving them with the distinction as the only two songs written by the whole band. Brothers Shawn and Glen Drover joined the band together on drums and bass in 2004.
Nicholas Menza (July 23, 1964 – May 21, 2016) was an American musician who was the drummer of the thrash metal band Megadeth from 1989 to 1998. He recorded drums on four of Megadeth's albums: Rust in Peace (1990), Countdown to Extinction (1992), Youthanasia (1994), and Cryptic Writings (1997).

"Sweating Bullets" is a song by American heavy metal band Megadeth. It was released in 1993 as the third single from their fifth album, Countdown to Extinction (1992). A music video for the song was made, directed by Wayne Isham. [1] The song charted at No. 27 on the US Mainstream Rock chart and at No. 26 in the UK.
