La Quinta (a Spanish idiom meaning "the country villa") is a desert resort city in Riverside County, California, United States. Located between Indian Wells and Indio , it is one of the nine cities of the Coachella Valley .
La Quinta was designed in 1930 by noted Kansas City architect Edward Buehler Delk. About the same time, Delk designed a house that was built near La Quinta for Paul Fridjof Dahlgren, the brother of Mrs. H.V. Foster. The Dahlgren house is Spanish Revival in style. It is located to the south of La Quinta in the Country Club Terrace subdivision.
La Quinta by Wyndham, also known as La Quinta Inn & Suites (Spanish: La Quinta, "the country villa", pronounced [la ˈkinta]) is a chain of limited service hotels in the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Honduras owned by Wyndham Hotels & Resorts. La Quinta Holdings, Inc. first sold shares to the public in April 2014.
La Quinta High School was built in 1994 but fully completed by 1996. In its first year it had an enrollment of approximately 600 students with only grades 9-10 and in 1998, with grades 9-12, it now exceeds 3,000 students making it the largest high school in the Coachella Valley.
Rancho Mission Viejo is today home to four master-planned communities: the City of Mission Viejo, City of Rancho Santa Margarita, Las Flores, and Ladera Ranch. In 2000, the O’Neill/Avery/Moiso family created a comprehensive open space preservation and land use plan for the remaining 23,000 acres of Rancho Mission Viejo. [ 11 ]
