Mendota station is an Amtrak intercity train station at 783 Main Street, Mendota, Illinois, United States. The station was originally built on February 23, 1888, by the Chicago, Burlington and Quincy Railroad , as a replacement for the former Union Depot that was built in 1853 and burned down in 1885.

Mendota is a city in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States, in the state's north-central region. The population was 7,061 at the 2020 census. [4] It is part of the Ottawa, IL Micropolitan Statistical Area. Mendota is located approximately 85 miles west of Chicago, 70 miles east of Moline and 55 miles south of Rockford.

Mendota Township is located in LaSalle County, Illinois, United States. As of the 2010 census, its population was 7,534 and it contained 3,111 housing units. [ 2 ] Mendota Township was formed from Meriden Township in February, 1856.
