The Meenambakkam bomb blast was a terrorist attack that occurred on August 2, 1984, at Meenambakkam International Airport in Madras, Tamil Nadu, India, now known as Chennai International Airport in Chennai, India. A total of 33 people were killed, and 27 others were injured.

The bombings left eleven people dead and seven others injured. The special CBI court tried eighteen of the accused under the now-defunct Terrorist and Disruptive Activities (Prevention) Act . They had been earlier given life imprisonment by a TADA court in Chennai for their involvement in the blast on 8 August 1993 at the RSS office in Chennai.

It is home to Chennai International Airport, the Airports Authority of India regional office, and the DGQA Complex. It was under the reign of the Pallava kingdom. The name Meenambakkam signifies that it is a settlement near the coast.
