Downtown Chicago, Illinois, has some double-decked and a few triple-decked streets immediately north and south of the Main Branch and immediately east of the South Branch of the Chicago River. The most famous and longest of these is Wacker Drive, which replaced the South Water Street Market upon its 1926 completion. [1]

River North is a neighborhood in the Near North Side, Chicago located north of the Chicago River, south of Division Street, and west of Wabash Avenue. [1] It is adjacent to the Magnificent Mile retail corridor. River North has become one of Chicago's top neighborhoods for nightlife especially on and around Hubbard Street.
North of the Chicago River today's Michigan Avenue was known as Pine Street. In 1866, a small portion of Pine Street was "vacated" and moved 80 feet (24 m) further west of the original Pine street location to accommodate the installation of the new pumping station's standpipe.
Oak Street is in Chicago's Gold Coast. It runs from 138 East to 650 West in the Near North Side. It ends without crossing the North Branch of the Chicago River. West of the river, the street changes to Augusta Boulevard. Its eastern end is Michigan Avenue. At this intersection Oak Street becomes East Lake Shore Drive.
