The Badger Army Ammunition Plant (BAAP or Badger) or Badger Ordnance Works (B.O.W.) is an excess, non-BRAC, United States Army facility located near Sauk City, Wisconsin. It manufactured nitrocellulose-based propellants during World War II, the Korean War, and the Vietnam War. It was a large munitions factory during World War II.
Located near Baraboo is the Badger Army Ammunition Plant, which was the largest munitions factory in the world during World War II, when it was known as "Badger Ordnance Works". [17] The plant is no longer in use. The Culver's restaurant franchise has its headquarters in Prairie du Sac, and was first opened in Sauk City in 1984. [18]

In 1953, Monsignor Francis Xavier Gray, pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Parish in Baraboo, Wisconsin, established the camp. He bought the original 100 acres (0.40 km 2) from a local businessman for $400. The original cabins started as ammunition crates from the nearby Badger Army Ammunition Plant.
