Ridgely Middle School is a Blue Ribbon-award-winning middle school that serves students in sixth through eighth grades as part of the Baltimore County Public Schools. This school serves students coming from elementary schools in Lutherville , Timonium , Hampton and Ruxton-Riderwood, Maryland .
In 2006 alone, the school raised $35,037 the second-highest of all schools nationwide. [6] The $29,509 raised for the program in 2005 also ranked the school second nationally. [ 7 ] In 2006, Bel Air was one of over 25,000 schools across the country participated in the AAHPERD's basketball and jump rope fundraising programs.
Schools must show how data are interpreted and used and how curriculum, instruction, professional development, and student support promote student success. In 2012 the program was renamed the National Blue Ribbon Schools program to distinguish it from a for-profit company which had appropriated the Blue Ribbon School name.
In 2007, River Hill High School was among 290 schools to be nominated as a National Blue Ribbon School by the U.S. Department of Education. [2] River Hill was recognized in 2008 by BusinessWeek as having the "Best Overall Academic Performance" in Maryland. [3] The school was awarded a 2009 Best High School silver medal by U.S. News & World Report.
In 2010, the school opened as Oakdale High School with only ninth and tenth grade. [4] In the 2011–2012 school year, an eleventh grade was added, and finally, the next year, Oakdale had in its attendance all four grades. [4] The first senior class from Oakdale graduated in June 2013.
