Interstate 678 (I-678) is a north–south auxiliary Interstate Highway that extends for 14 miles (23 km) through two boroughs of New York City.The route begins at John F. Kennedy International Airport on Jamaica Bay and travels north through Queens and across the East River to the Bruckner Interchange in the Bronx, where I-678 ends and the Hutchinson River Parkway begins.
The new extension would continue south, crossing over CR 67 (the Long Island Motor Parkway) and entering a second interchange with the Long Island Expressway in the vicinity of exit 57 and exit 58. The highway would then continue south, crossing NY 454 a second time and passing a new entrance to Connetquot State Park , further south.

County Route 101 runs northeast and southwest from CR 80 (Montauk Highway) to Long Island Avenue, north of exit 66 on the Long Island Expressway. The road is known as Patchogue–Yaphank Road in some sections and Sills Road in others. Patchogue–Yaphank Road continues past Long Island Avenue as a Brookhaven-maintained road.
