In 2009, the Abu Dhabi Education Council (now ADEK) assumed the responsibility of running all public schools in the emirate from the Ministry of Education in a project named the New School Model. The project was aimed at improving teaching standards in the emirate's public schools by improving teaching, curriculum, and administration. [1]
