The following is a list of the metropolitan statistical areas in the U.S. state of Michigan, as defined by the U.S. Office of Management and Budget. Shiawassee County was added to the Lansing metropolitan area in 2018; the county is included in the Lansing MSA 2010 population.

Forest Hills is organized for statistical purposes only and also contains a large area of Ada Township to the north. It is the largest CDP in the state of Michigan in both area and population.
The main geographic feature of the recreation area is Lake Hudson (sometimes referred to as Hudson Lake). [6] The lake was originally three separate smaller lakes called Bear Lake, Covell Lake, and Haley Lake.
