This is a list of place names in the United States that either are Dutch, were translated from Dutch, or were heavily inspired by a Dutch name or term. Many originate from the Dutch colony of New Netherland .

Placenames in most cases had their roots in Dutch and the Algonquian languages, and occasionally the Iroquoian Mohawk. At the time of European settlement it was the territory of the various Native American groups.
