Darke County is a county in the U.S. state of Ohio.As of the 2020 census, the population was 51,881. [1] Its county seat and largest city is Greenville. [2] The county was created in 1809 and later organized in 1817. [3]

US 36 then travels north concurrently with US 127, meeting SR 49 and bypassing downtown Greenville. US 36 leaves US 127 at an interchange with SR 571. Westbound US 36 traffic on that interchange briefly runs concurrently with the state route. Between Greenville and Covington, US 36 parallels the Greenville Creek.
