A comparison of Lake Mead water levels from July 2000 to July 2015. Lake Mead's water level rebounded a few feet by October 2015 and avoided triggering the drought restrictions. The water level started falling in Spring 2016 and fell below the drought trigger level of 1,075 feet again in May 2016.
The park features an 80-acre (32 ha) lake that contains Bluegill, Channel Cat & Flathead Catfish, Trout, Saugeye, Crappie, and Largemouth Bass. Fishing is allowed in the lake year-round with motorized boating restricted to fishing only and no wake speed. In addition the park encompasses a 440-acre (180 ha) campsite and wildlife area.

Pearce Ferry (sometimes misspelled Pierce Ferry) marks the boundary between Lake Mead and the Grand Canyon, where the low sandy banks around the lake give way to imposing, colorfully layered cliffs that enclose the Colorado River for the next 277 miles upstream.
