Southwest University of Visual Arts (SUVA) was a private art school in Tucson, Arizona, [1] [2] with a branch in Albuquerque, New Mexico. [1] [3] [4] Founded in 1983, SUVA was formerly known as The Art Center Design College, but changed its name in 2011. [5] It was accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools. [1]
The school began granting Bachelor's and Master's degrees in arts in 1949, and was fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges in 1955. In 1965, the school changed its name to Art Center College of Design. The school expanded its programs, including a film program in 1973.
