Wabash Valley College was founded independently in 1960 by the local community school district. In 1969, it joined with Olney Central College to create a two college district, a relationship that was expanded in May of that year with the addition of Lincoln Trail College.
1987 – In June 1987, the HCAC was founded as the Indiana Collegiate Athletic Conference (ICAC). Charter members included Anderson College (now Anderson University), DePauw University, Franklin College, Hanover College, Manchester College, and Wabash College, beginning the 1987–88 academic year.

After averaging 16.6 points per game as a freshman at Vincennes University in 2010–11, Wiggins moved to Wabash Valley JC for his sophomore year in 2011–12. He averaged 17.3 points, 3.7 rebounds and 1.2 assists per game as he earned second-team All-American honors after leading the Warriors to a 27–10 record and an eighth-place finish in the NJCAA Tournament in Hutchinson.
