Toyohashi (豊橋市, Toyohashi-shi) is a city in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. As of 1 December 2019, the city had an estimated population of 377,453 in 160,516 households [1] and a population density of 1,400 persons per km 2. The total area of the city was 261.86 square kilometres (101.10 sq mi).
On October 1, 1956, the Toyohashi Railway acquired the local Taguchi Railway Company, which continued to operate as the Toyohashi Railway Taguchi Line until September 1, 1968. In October, 1988 the company opened a hotel at Toyohashi Station. From February 2011, the Manaca Smart Card system was implemented on the Toyohashi Railway network.
