The National Incident Management System (NIMS) is a standardized approach to incident management developed by the United States Department of Homeland Security.The program was established in March 2004, [1] in response to Homeland Security Presidential Directive-5, [1] [2] issued by President George W. Bush.

Allied Communication Procedures is the set of manuals and supplements published by the Combined Communications Electronics Board that prescribe the methods and standards to be used while conducting visual, audible, radiotelegraph, and radiotelephone communications within NATO member nations.
Developed and maintained by the International Organization for Standardization, the ICS is intended to be a continuous work in progress and is updated when necessary. The latest edition of the ICS can be downloaded free of charge from the ISO web site. Anyone may submit a proposal for modifications or additions to the ICS.
Users can set up frequently used forms well before they are necessary and when the need comes all that is required is to fill in the fields. In this way, for example, emergency forms from the Red Cross, National Traffic System, or the Incident Command System, such as the FEMA standard ICS-213, could be generated and sent.
