L'Illustration (French pronunciation: [lilystʁasjɔ̃]; 1843–1944) was a French illustrated weekly newspaper published in Paris. [1] It was founded by Édouard Charton with the first issue published on 4 March 1843, it became the first illustrated newspaper in France then, after 1906, the first international illustrated magazine; distributed in 150 countries.

The Graphic continued to be published weekly under that title until 23 April 1932; it was renamed The National Graphic between 28 April and 14 July 1932. On 15 August 1932, Time magazine reported the name change to The National Graphic and that editor William Comyns Beaumont of The Bystander had taken over, replacing Alan John Bott . [ 9 ]

They had a son, Lionel Frank Papé born 15 April 1908 in Putney, Wandsworth, London, England. [14] Stringer was a former Slade School of Fine Art student whose illustrations in Little Folks (c. 1910) magazine for children resemble Papé's early style. She did much of the coloring of his pictures.
