Selfcaged is the third EP by Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah. It was initially recorded as a demo for the upcoming album Destroy Erase Improve but was eventually released in 1995 by Nuclear Blast as a teaser for the next album. [2] Re-recordings of the tracks 1–3 on this EP appear on Destroy Erase Improve.
Alex Grey (born November 29, 1953) is an American visual artist, author, teacher, and Vajrayana practitioner known for creating spiritual and psychedelic artwork such as his 21-painting Sacred Mirrors series. [1]
Meshuggah has found little mainstream success but is a significant act in extreme underground music, an influence for modern metal bands [102] and has a cult following. [103] [104] Meshuggah inspired the "djent" subgenre in progressive metal, [105] [106] [107] that describes an "elastic, syncopated guitar riff" with its name. [108]
The album was released on 23 March 2012 in Germany, 26 March in the rest of Europe and on March 27 in North America. It was released as a standard compact disc, as a digipak version featuring a bonus DVD, as a limited edition boxed set "magic cube" (a mock-Rubik's Cube featuring the album artwork, available only through Nuclear Blast mail-order), and a double-LP pressed on brown vinyl.
Destroy Erase Improve is the second studio album by Swedish extreme metal band Meshuggah.It was released on 12 May 1995 by Nuclear Blast.This is the first studio album to feature rhythm guitarist Mårten Hagström and the final to feature bassist Peter Nordin, as he left the band during the supporting tour due to vertigo.
