Originally called Sound House Studios, CRC was founded by Alan Kubicka in Medinah, Illinois. In 1975 the studio moved to Michigan Avenue in Chicago, and became Chicago Recording Company. Early records made there include Lovin' Feeling by Phil Upchurch and Don't Fight The Feeling by Jim Peterik.
The union took place in 1961 and as a result seven OPRC congregations were dissolved, with their members joining other Christian Reformed congregations, and four became part of the CRCNA denomination-Hope CRC in Hull, Iowa, Alamo Ave CRC in Kalamazoo, MI, Bethel CRC in Redlands, CA and Faith CRC in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
