Muriel Furrer (1 July 2006 [1] – 27 September 2024) was a Swiss mountain biker, road cyclist, and cyclo crosser. She won a bronze medal in the mixed relay at the 2024 European Mountain Bike Championships. [2] In road cycling, she was the runner-up at the national junior championships in both the time trial and road race events. [3]

Muriel Simisola Buxton-Thomas was born in Freetown, Sierra Leone, to Claude Victor and Claudia Blanche Buxton-Thomas. At the age of 10 her family moved to London, and she attended Wimbledon High School. [1] She enrolled at Newcastle Medical School in 1965, qualifying in 1971.
