The hamlet of Wenfordbridge Wenford Bridge Pottery. Wenfordbridge, or Wenford Bridge, is a hamlet some 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Bodmin and on the western flank of Bodmin Moor, in Cornwall, England. It takes its name from an old granite bridge over the River Camel, and lies on the border between the parishes of St Breward and St Tudy.
He began work as an apprentice at Wenford Bridge Pottery with Michael Cardew in 1969. [ 6 ] [ 4 ] In 1972 he joined the Brannam Pottery in Barnstaple , where he worked as a thrower for a year. He has been described as probably the best of the potters to work at Wenford Bridge, and his large pots have been said to be "very powerful".
[4] He struggled with difficult clay and kiln failures for three years and later judged the Vumë pottery to have been unsuccessful, but its products are among his most highly regarded pots. [citation needed] Michael Cardew Bowl made at Wenford Bridge Cardew's mark. He returned to England in 1948 and made stoneware pottery at Wenford Bridge.

The Nantgarw China Works was a porcelain factory, later making other types of pottery, located in Nantgarw on the eastern bank of the Glamorganshire Canal, 8 miles (13 km) north of Cardiff in the River Taff valley, Glamorganshire, Wales. The factory made porcelain of very high quality, especially in the years from 1813–1814 and 1817–1820.
