At Saltburn, Oliver meets Felix's parents Sir James and Lady Catton, his sister Venetia, and Elspeth's friend Pamela, and he reunites with Felix's American cousin Farleigh, with whom Oliver has had a tense relationship as Oxford classmates. Oliver quickly wins over Felix's family except for Farleigh, and his obsession with Felix grows.
Farleigh is exiled by the Catton patriarch Sir James (Richard E. Grant), and Venetia commits suicide. A griefstricken Elspeth begs Oliver to stay at Saltburn, presumably as a reminder of her son.
