Hetalia (ヘタリア) is a portmanteau combining hetare (ヘタレ, 'useless' or 'pathetic' in a cute or endearing way) and "Italia" (イタリア, Itaria, 'Italy'). [2]

A second 26-episode season of Hetalia: Axis Powers was announced on April 16, 2009, and a third was announced on December 10, 2009.
