Terminal 2, situated at the end of the old MIA Road (now NAIA Road), covers an area of 75,000 square meters (810,000 sq ft). Construction began in December 1995, [96] and the terminal started operating in 1999. It received the name Centennial Terminal in commemoration of the centennial year of Philippine independence.
