Finally the Agricultural University at Akola was started on 20 October 1969. It was named after the illustrious son of Vidarbha Dr. Panjabrao (alias Bhausaheb) Deshmukh, who was the Minister for Agriculture, Government of India, as Panjabrao Krishi Vidyapeeth. It was renamed as Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth from 15 November 1995.

Panjabrao Shamrao Deshmukh (27 December 1898 – 10 April 1965), also known as Bhausaheb Deshmukh was a social activist and a leader to farmers in India. He was the Minister of Agriculture in the cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru in 1954.
The initial intake capacity of the college was 45. After the transfer of this college to the Dr. Panjabrao Deshmukh Krishi Vidyapeeth, Akola (Agriculture University) as its constituent college in 1969, the intake capacity was increased to 65 and then to 100 with further reduction to 80 seats and subsequently it was reduced to 61.
Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, formerly Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, is an agricultural university at Dapoli in Ratnagiri district of the Indian state of Maharashtra. It was established on 18 May 1972 as Konkan Krishi Vidyapeeth, and got its present name on 12 February 2001 in memory of third Chief Minister of Maharashtra Shri.

Forestry Degree Programme was started in Dr. Balasaheb Sawant Kokan Krishi Vidyapeeth, Dapoli in the year 1985. The independent college was established in 2005. 1 August is celebrated as Foundation Day of CFOR, Dapoli.
