Trinity Academy was founded in September 1995 by a board of directors. In 1998, Trinity Academy of Raleigh was formed when Trinity Academy (a high school) and Regent School of Raleigh (K–8) merged. Originally, the two divisions were on different campuses: (Asbury United Methodist Church and Calvary Presbyterian Church).
St Johns C.E. Primary School was originally part of the Old Penge Chapel, which opened in 1837. Early in the 1850s, following the completion of St John the Evangelist, the school took over the entire old chapel building. The school's site was extended in 1977, and a new school building was opened in September 1978. [30]
Blessed Trinity opened in August 2000 with a total enrollment of 219 students; 164 freshmen and 55 sophomores. The school's reputation led to its rapid growth, with enrollment increasing to 465 by the second year, 680 in the third, 840 in the fourth, and 875 in the fifth. The school's first graduation occurred on May 24, 2003.

Saint John the Evangelist is the Church of England parish church of Penge (now in the London Borough of Bromley), in the Diocese of Rochester, Greater London.
