Katherine Rundell (born 10 July 1987) is an English author and academic. She is the author of Impossible Creatures, named Waterstones Book of the Year for 2023. [1] She is also the author of Rooftoppers, which in 2015 won both the overall Waterstones Children's Book Prize [2] and the Blue Peter Book Award for Best Story, [3] and was shortlisted for the Carnegie Medal. Impossible Creatures is a 2003 steampunk real-time strategy game developed by Relic Entertainment and published by Microsoft Game Studios. Its unique feature is that the armies used in gameplay are all created by the player, and involve combining two animals to make a new super creature with various abilities.
