Kakashi Hatake (Japanese: はたけ カカシ, Hepburn: Hatake Kakashi) is a fictional character and one of the main protagonists in the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. In the story, Kakashi is the teacher of Team 7 , consisting of the series' primary characters, Naruto Uzumaki , Sasuke Uchiha , and Sakura Haruno .

When Sasuke arrives, he declares that his eyes have shown him Itachi's death and the fated battle between the two brothers begins. Itachi's illusions deceive Sasuke as he explains that he conspired with Madara Uchiha, the Leaf's founder and the first to awaken the Mangekyo Sharingan, when he killed their clan.
The five Kage gather to decide how to keep the remaining tailed beasts away from the Akatsuki. Naruto Uzumaki, Kakashi Hatake and Yamato also attend in secret, hoping to convince the Kage to forgive Sasuke Uchiha for his crimes; Sai, Sakura Haruno, Lee and Kiba follow in an attempt to tell Naruto about their comrades' decision to kill Sasuke themselves.
Meanwhile, the person who attacked Sasuke meets someone, tells him about Sasuke's strength and they talk about their intentions of killing Sasuke. After talking with Kakashi, Naruto decides to meet up with Sasuke himself, and Sarada overhears him saying it, who had come there to ask Naruto about Sasuke's whereabouts.
Sasuke's messenger hawk then brought him a letter, which he shared with Zansul, stating that Kakashi and the new king, Nanara had captured the traitorous Prime Minister Zansul was serving. While trying to get away from Sasuke, Zansul issues to many conflicting commands to the flying beasts, resulting in it dropping him to his death.
Realizing that Sasuke is looking for Itachi, Naruto sets out with Sakura, Sai, Kakashi, Yamato, and the members of Team 8 to find either of the Uchiha brothers. Akatsuki also learns of Orochimaru's defeat, and they mobilize Deidara and his new teammate Tobi to deal with Sasuke.
Refusing to hand Tazuna over, Kakashi is forced to reveal a strange eye. The former confused as to how Kakashi obtained it, Sasuke and Zabuza both recognise the strange eye as a Sharingan. While Team 7 protects Tazuna, Kakashi engages Zabuza, both using clones to distract the other to get them from behind.
