Kakashi Hatake (Japanese: はたけ カカシ, Hepburn: Hatake Kakashi) is a fictional character and one of the main protagonists in the Naruto manga and anime series created by Masashi Kishimoto. In the story, Kakashi is the teacher of Team 7 , consisting of the series' primary characters, Naruto Uzumaki , Sasuke Uchiha , and Sakura Haruno .
Realizing that Sasuke is looking for Itachi, Naruto sets out with Sakura, Sai, Kakashi, Yamato, and the members of Team 8 to find either of the Uchiha brothers. Akatsuki also learns of Orochimaru's defeat, and they mobilize Deidara and his new teammate Tobi to deal with Sasuke.
Sasuke asks where Itachi is and slices through Tobi, as Deidara retreats to a distance. Tobi gets back up unharmed as Deidara retaliates with his chakra-level 1 (C1) explosives. Sasuke escapes with a simple substitution jutsu forcing Deidara to use one of his C2 creations, the C2 Dragon. Working with Tobi, they forced Sasuke to use the Curse Mark.

Easily defeated by his brother, Sasuke is once again accused of lacking hatred and is saved by the legendary ninja Jiraiya. Upon being healed by Tsunade, Sasuke confronts Naruto to see whether he has the power to defeat him. Although the fight is stopped by Kakashi, Sasuke is once again surprised by the power of Naruto's newly learned Rasengan.
