In the film and graphics industries, 3D lookup tables (3D LUTs) are used for color grading and for mapping one color space to another. They are commonly used to calculate preview colors for a monitor or digital projector of how an image will be reproduced on another display device, typically the final digitally projected image or release print ...
DCI-P3 covers 53.6% [4] of the CIE 1931 chromaticity diagram (see inset image), which describes the color gamut of human color vision. A smaller, practical gamut for comparison is the Pointer's gamut, which consists of diffusely reflecting surface colors. DCI-P3 covers 86.9% of Pointer's gamut, [5] while in comparison, Rec. 709/sRGB only covers ...
The computed interpolation process is then used to insert many new values in between these key points to give a "smoother" result. In its simplest form, this is the drawing of two-dimensional curves. The key points, placed by the artist, are used by the computer algorithm to form a smooth curve either through, or near these points.
Demosaicing (or de-mosaicing, demosaicking), also known as color reconstruction, is a digital image processing algorithm used to reconstruct a full color image from the incomplete color samples output from an image sensor overlaid with a color filter array (CFA) such as a Bayer filter. It is also known as CFA interpolation or debayering.
A table of RGB color values to be indexed by a lower-bit-depth image (typically 4–8 bits), a form of vector quantization. Color bleeding Unwanted effect in texture mapping. A color from a border of unmapped region of the texture may appear (bleed) in the mapped result due to interpolation. Color channels
The simplest interpolation method is to locate the nearest data value, and assign the same value. In simple problems, this method is unlikely to be used, as linear interpolation (see below) is almost as easy, but in higher-dimensional multivariate interpolation, this could be a favourable choice for its speed and simplicity.

The result is less light absorbed compared to a CCD without a Bayer filter. Typically there is a 2:1 ratio of green and red/blue pixels, producing less color detail. [2] As of 2024, no commercial 3CCD camcorders are in production due to modern Bayer sensors having improved sensitivity, higher pixel count, and better color interpolation algorithms.
