Nam June Paik [a] (Korean: 백남준; RR: Baek Namjun; July 20, 1932 – January 29, 2006) was a South Korean artist. He worked with a variety of media and is considered to be the founder of video art .

[4] It is "awarded to artists and theorists whose works are . . . amalgamating art and technology, pursuing new ways of communication, interacting with audiences, and fusing and conflating music, performance and visual art." TV Buddha is a video sculpture by Nam June Paik first produced in 1974, but exists in multiple versions. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] In the work, a Buddha statue watches an image of itself on a TV screen. The screen's image is produced by a live video camera trained on the Buddha statue.
