The Central Sudetes (Czech: Orlická oblast or Střední Sudety, Polish: Sudety Środkowe, German: Mittelsudeten) are the central part of the Sudetes mountain range on the border of the Czech Republic and Poland. They stretch from the Nysa Kłodzka River and the Kłodzko Valley in the east to the upper Bóbr in the west.

The Wałbrzyskie Mountains or Waldenburg Mountains (Polish: Góry Wałbrzyskie; German: Waldenburger Bergland), sometimes called the Wałbrzyskie Highlands or Waldenburg Highlands, is one of the three mountain ranges that form the western part of the Central Sudetes. The other ranges are the Owl Mountains and the Falcon Mountains.
The village is located in the Zadrna valley of the Central Sudetes, within the historic Lower Silesia region. It lies approximately 10 kilometres (6 mi) south of Kamienna Góra, and 82 kilometres (51 mi) south-west of the regional capital Wrocław.
Velká Deštná (German: Deschneyer Großkoppe) is a mountain in the Hradec Králové Region of the Czech Republic.With an elevation of 1,116 m (3,661 ft), it is the highest mountain of the Orlické Mountains and of the whole Central Sudetes range.

Sobótka is located about 30 km (19 mi) southwest of Wrocław on the northern slope of Mount Ślęża, part of the Central Sudetes mountain range. As of 2019 [update] , the town has a population of 6,981.
