3. Roadside service will tow your car to a Tesla service center, a tire shop of your choice, or wherever you want to go, all within a 50 mile radius. If the tire can be repaired, I suggest going to a tire shop. If not, go to a Tesla service center since they usually have the factory tire in stock, and the tire shop may not.
I'm deciding between buying a spare, using a tire repair kit, or relying on road service. Tesla says (Roadside Assistance): Flat Tire Damage to the wheel or tire that causes flat or unsafe driving conditions. Coverage: Flat tire services are provided for up to 50 miles. What does the "50...
Tesla Roadside Assistance can dispatch a contracted towing service to your location. In some cases the Tesla Roadside Assistance contracted tow service may be able to provide a loaner wheel and tire. You would then have your damaged tire repaired or replaced within ~3 days and drop off the loaner wheel at the Tesla Service Center.
I don't often bring back old posts, but I just got my SECOND flat tire today, almost 2 months since I posted this. Talk about year 2020 luck. This time, I was going back home and had a warning for extreme low tire pressure on the interstate, since the tire pressure was losing rapidly, I had no choice but to pull over to the nearest shoulder.
I got a flat tire and it took four hours to get help. I realize this part is not necessarily Tesla’s issue but this lengthy time to get help leads to even more problems. My tire went flat on me at 5 pm in a shopping center. When I contacted Tesla for roadside assistance, I was given a two-hour response time.
Tip 1. Discount tire offers tire warranty for about $240 bucks on our tires. If they cant fix it, they will replace it. Great deal since each tire is about $370 bucks. Tip 2. Get a Spare Tire from ModernSpare.com for under $400 bucks..includes a nice wheel, tire, jack, tools and carrying case.
Congratulations on the free tire patch! 1) Not all Tesla Service Centers are willing to patch your tire even when you offer them lots of money. It's not about money but because some have a strict policy of tire replacement and not repairs. 2) $80 for tire patching for Tesla is reasonable because its minimum hourly labor rate is not under $100.
Tesla Roadside Assistance provides one unique benefit over AAA. They carry a spare tire that is designed for your car so that if you have a flat that can’t be repaired on the spot you can borrow their spare to get back on the road and then return it once you fix your tire. This service ends after 4 years or 50,000 miles.
I live in San Diego, was up in Los Angeles and had a tire rupture due to a hazard. Tesla sent out a service crew with a spare tire at 7p on a Sunday, the next morning back in San Diego a mobile service came over to my house and installed a new tire and took the spare away. All said and done, it cost me about $80 more than going to Discount tires.
Yeah I contemplated about Roadside assistance but after reading several post here, it sounds like Roadside will try to get me to buy a tire instead of patching. My car is only 3 months old with less than 5k miles. Hopefully the nearest Americas Tire shop a few mins away can patch if not Ill plug it myself which Ive done on my previous cars.
