Pinecone & Pony is a children's animated television series produced by DreamWorks Animation and First Generation Films for Apple TV+. The series is loosely based on the children's book The Princess and the Pony by Kate Beaton. [1] The first season was released on April 8, 2022, [2] [3] and the second season was released on February 3, 2023. [4]
The Princess and the Pony turns stereotypical situations up-side-down. Princess Pinecone is a "strong female character," and a warrior. [5] She wants a warhorse for her birthday, but instead gets a very cute pony. [6] The pony is flatulent and Princess Pinecone is very unhappy with it at first. [7]
DJ Pon-3 is a background character in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, who first appeared as a DJ at Rarity's fashion show in the episode "Suited For Success." Fans gave her the name DJ Pon-3 due to her talent; this name was later mentioned in The Hub 's "Equestria Girls" ad.
