As a general rule, stores are permitted to open only between 8 am and 9 pm weekdays and 8 am - 5 pm weekends, excluding holidays. There are several exceptions, however, notably several supermarkets in Montreal, which are open later hours or 24 hours a day. In practice, few stores in Canada (except a few grocery stores) remain open 24 hours.
Child World was an American toy retailer founded in 1962. It grew to 182 sites and revenues of $830 million (~$1.62 billion in 2023) before failing in 1992. It was known for the distinctive stylized castle store exterior adopted after its 1975 purchase of the Children's Palace store chain.

Circus World, originally known as Child's World, [1] was founded in Michigan in 1964, [2] by engineer Sidney Rubin (born 1937), [2] [3] [4] who served as the company president. [3] Rubin was once a first baseman , [ 2 ] and also worked as an army radar instructor before working as a systems analyst for Sperry Rand during the mid-1960s.
