Guaynabo (Spanish pronunciation: [ɡwajˈnaβo], locally) is a city and municipality on the northeastern coastal plain of Puerto Rico.Located west of the capital San Juan, east of Bayamón, south of Cataño and San Juan Bay, and north of Aguas Buenas, Guaynabo is spread over 9 barrios and the downtown area and administrative center of Guaynabo Pueblo.
Toa Baja is located in the Northern Coastal Plains of the island, in the Northern Karst zone. It has an area of 24.0 miles 2 (62.4 km 2).The terrain consists mostly of alluvial deposits and clay-like surface as a result of the surrounding waters.
It is part of the San Juan-Caguas-Guaynabo Metropolitan Statistical Area. Naguabo is renowned for and is said to be the birthplace of the pastelillo de chapín, which is a popular food in Puerto Rico. It is trunkfish wrapped inside deep-fried flour dough. Pastelillos de chapín can be found in almost any seaside establishment on the island.

This highway begins at its junction with PR-164 (road from Naranjito to Corozal) and ends at San Patricio (near Caparra). From Naranjito to Toa Alta it is a rural road. In Toa Baja it becomes a divided highway. In Dorado the road is one lane in each direction and parallel to the northern coast of Puerto Rico.
