Following his sophomore season, Horn entered the U.S. Military and spent two years (1959–60, 1960–61) playing AAU Men's Basketball on the U.S. Armed Forces team. [3] Horn played scholastically for the Mississinewa High School Indians; leading them to an IHSAA Sectional and Regional titles in 1954. [4]
The first school year of the conference was the 2018–2019 school year. The SRC recognized volleyball, girls basketball, and boys basketball. There was also a conference baseball tournament held that year, since there were enough schools with teams and interest. The first year for girls and boys cross country was the 2021–2022 school year.
Paoli was the next school to make a change, becoming a charter member of the Patoka Lake Conference while maintaining MSC membership. This lasted for six years, as Paoli decided the more geographically compact PLC was better suited to their needs, leaving the Mid-Southern in 1985.

Tri-County Middle-Senior High School's athletic teams are the Cavaliers and they compete in 1A class sports and formerly in the Hoosier Heartland Conference. [3] Tri-County was a former member of the Midwest Athletic Conference (IHSAA). They will rejoin with the Midwest Athletic Conference (IHSAA) in the 2018 school year.
