NC 694 South (2011-07-16). NC 694 is a 6.3-mile (10.1 km) two-lane scenic highway begins in downtown Asheville. Going northeast from its southern terminus at Martin Luther King Jr. Drive and College Street (the latter of which also carries U.S. Route 70 (US 70) and US 74A), it passes over Interstate 240 as it quickly ascends Beaucatcher Mountain, eventually to the ridge line.
Past Avery Creek, NC 191 intersects the scenic Blue Ridge Parkway, a National Parkway and All-American Road. The highway continues north into Venable , intersecting the eastern terminus of NC 112 (Sardis Road) and then I-26 and US 74 at exit 33 as it reaches the outermost city limits of Asheville.

NC 80 at Buck Creek Gap. NC 80 is a 37.9-mile-long (61.0 km) two-lane mountain highway between US 70, in Pleasant Gardens, and NC 226A, near Bakersville.The highway is popular with bike and motorcycle enthusiasts, because of its hairpin turns and also makes up part of the Mount Mitchell Scenic Drive between the Blue Ridge Parkway and Micaville.
