In June 2022, AEW added a fifth PPV event to its yearly lineup with Forbidden Door, a co-promoted event with New Japan Pro-Wrestling (NJPW), and then further expanded its PPV event schedule in the second half of 2023, adding All In, WrestleDream, and Worlds End in August, October, and December, respectively.
